When a GitHub App bot pushes a commit, the pipeline view shows a grey letter for the "Commit pushed" trigger. It does not show the bot's avatar. Coding agents, Dependabot and Renovate all push as GitHub App bots, so this happens often.
GitHub already has an avatar for each App, at https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/in/<app-id>. The push webhook also sends it in the sender.avatar_url field.
We think that CircleCI takes the avatar from the CircleCI account of the user who pushed. A GitHub App bot cannot sign in to CircleCI, so it never has an account.
Request: If the user who pushed has no CircleCI account, show the avatar from the GitHub webhook.
Why it matters: More and more commits now come from bots and AI agents. With a letter in place of the avatar, it is hard to see at a glance which pipelines a bot started.
