hi Alexander Tilkin - While OpenJDK 19 is more recent, it is not a LTS version. In fact, we are just now getting around to including OpenJDK 17 on the android machine images.

While we could potentially include 19 if enough people ask for it, I do not suspect it will be set as the default, but you would be able to switch to it rather easily
